I love Melissa’s invitations. They are so soft and pretty. From the design to the color palette to the cotton stock. We chose a combination of natural colored cotton stock and craft stock. The invitation, response and accommodations cards were letterpress printed. The craft cardstock was screen printed with ivory ink, all by Mama’s Sauce. The beautiful envelope addressing was done by the Left Handed Calligrapher.

Melissa also opted for the every popular timeline.

Our little Callahan is turning one on the 7th this year so we wanted to go have a Fourth of July celebration in honor of his big day. The only thing is that the Fourth falls in the middle of the week this year, and most people head out of town, so we having his party on the 13th.
I knew I wanted to do a poster style invitation and, I wanted it to look a little vintage, a little modern, a little retro. Keeping with the patriotic theme, I used some colonial graphics, a mix of modern and vintage fonts and then distressed the whole thing in photoshop. Flat printed on Cranes Lettra text, I folded it all up, tied it with bakers twine and used a wax seal with a “c” to complete the vintage look. Of course what would a Myers invitation be without vintage stamps. I tracked down some patriotic postage, addressed them with a white pen and sent them out!
On that note, I am heading north for the rest of the week! Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Vanessa and Dan are getting married at Camp Blue, Lair of the Golden Bear in Pinecrest, California. This is a real deal CAMP, with tents, and bonfires and bugspray. Not your traditional venue for a wedding, but yet again, another one of my bride’s weddings that I would like to attend! A non traditional venue, calls for non traditional invitations! Vanessa had seen my camp invitation that I had done a few years back and contacted me to create something similar for her big day. This is what we came up with.

I designed a monogram that they will be able to use throughout their wedding paper goods.

The most fun of all, the weekend itinerary. The front side lists all of the fun activities to be had. The back side include a checklist of what to pack and a “field notes” section to write all your important info on.

I have done quite a few rustic/camp themed invitations this year. Pinterest has been a great source of inspiration for these. Below is a example of my Camp board. Check out more of my pinterest boards here. Stay tuned on Monday for my latest camp themed invitation. Have a great weekend!

1. Camp Caravan, 2. Deer Matches, 3. Camp logos, 4. Vintage Campsite, 5. Canoe, 6. Native Resorts, 7. Scenes from Moonrise Kingdom
Nisse, is one of my favorite types of brides to work with. She knows what she likes AND has fantastic taste. She was very involved from the get go with her ideas for the suite. Both her and her fiance have a love for art and are getting married at the Art Institute of Chicago. She wanted the overall look to have a vintage vibe, with lots of vintage and modern type and fun patterns mixed in. In the end we opted for just the one pattern. It was letterpress printed on Cranes 110# Lettra stock in a soft grey ink.
To incorporate color into her suite, Nisse tracked down the beautiful italian marbled paper for her envelope liners, different colored envelopes, vintage postage and the pretty calligraphy by AngeliqueInk.

Ana and James are getting married in Northern Michigan, at the Homestead Resort, overlooking the scenic Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. She wanted her invitations to resemble a ticket to a “one night only,” special event as well as reflect the rustic, natural beauty of Michigan. We incorporated the shoreline of Lake Michigan at the bottom of the invitation and a custom bear logo at the top. The night before the wedding, they are having a welcome bonfire on the beach under the stars. We chose a watercolor background for lots of color with the look of the night sky. The RSVP also resembles a ticket.

I have been dying to share these invitations as CORK was a fist for me! Erin contacted me to design a stationery suite for her Sonoma Valley wedding, that in her words, were “soft, romantic, unique, yet effortlessly chic.” We set out to do just that. She is getting married at the BR Cohn Winery and really wanted to play up the wine country theme, but not with the traditional grape vines look. That is when I stumbled on cork skin, a thin veneer of cork that is backed with paper to hold its integrity. Cork. Wine country. PERFECT, without having to be so literal.
She opted for 2-color letterpress in sunny yellow, and a subdued grey. Envelope liners, a custom map, an itinerary booklet, and a die cut, cork tag all held together with yellow baker’s twine completed the look.

To add even more detail to her suite, she went with hand picked vintage stamps to match from the lovely Holly at the Paper Nickel and as always, beautiful calligraphy from Nicole at The Left Handed Calligrapher. She custom matched the calligraphy ink to the yellow in the invitations. We also had a custom address stamp made to save a little money on the response envelopes. Each envelope was stamped, and then embossed with yellow embossing powder.
