Michigan Watercolor Wedding Invitations

Ana and James are getting married in Northern Michigan, at the Homestead Resort, overlooking the scenic Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. She wanted her invitations to resemble a ticket to a “one night only,” special event as well as reflect the rustic, natural beauty of Michigan. We incorporated the shoreline of Lake Michigan at the bottom of the invitation and a custom bear logo at the top. The night before the wedding, they are having a welcome bonfire on the beach under the stars. We chose a watercolor background for lots of color with the look of the night sky. The RSVP also resembles a ticket.

Sonoma Wedding Invitation Part 2

I have been dying to share these invitations as CORK was a fist for me! Erin contacted me to design a stationery suite for her Sonoma Valley wedding, that in her words, were “soft, romantic, unique, yet effortlessly chic.” We set out to do just that. She is getting married at the BR Cohn Winery and really wanted to play up the wine country theme, but not with the traditional grape vines look. That is when I stumbled on cork skin, a thin veneer of cork that is backed with paper to hold its integrity. Cork. Wine country. PERFECT, without having to be so literal.

She opted for 2-color letterpress in sunny yellow, and a subdued grey. Envelope liners, a custom map, an itinerary booklet, and a die cut, cork tag all held together with yellow baker’s twine completed the look.

To add even more detail to her suite, she went with hand picked vintage stamps to match from the lovely Holly at the Paper Nickel and as always, beautiful calligraphy from Nicole at The Left Handed Calligrapher. She custom matched the calligraphy ink to the yellow in the invitations. We also had a custom address stamp made to save a little money on the response envelopes. Each envelope was stamped, and then embossed with yellow embossing powder.

Rhode Island Wedding Invitations

Abigail contacted me after seeing my Vermont Wedding Invitations on the blog. She is getting married at Castle Hill Inn and wanted to do the same concept with a Rhode Island invitation. Her design included more of a nautical theme and an illustration of the Rhode Island Bride. She also opted for the Rhode Island map mailing labels and the fun mad lib response card.

Mosey’s Invitations were a nice pairing of modern and whimsical fonts, with a soft floral graphic. The mint and grey invitations were printed in thermography on bright white stock.

Inkwell – Polka Dot Frame

Paige chose one of the latest Inkwell designs, the Polka Dot Frame invitation. Instead of going with the standard reception card, she opted for a wedding day timeline on white shimmer card stock with blue and green ink. You can see more details on this suite here.

Sonoma County Wedding

Kate was married at the beautiful Kenwood Inn and Spa last summer in Kenwood, California. There is a beautiful persimmon tree on the property that she used as inspiration for her invitations. We chose a craft pocketfold to add a rustic element, paired with soft ivory stock, romantic fonts and graphics completed her rustic, yet elegant look. Kate and Matt were on the crew team in college, we incorporated a personal touch to her wedding day timeline, by adding the rower, with the saying. “Way enough,” which if you are familiar with the world of crew, it means to stop. I also created coordinating accessories for the wedding day. Table numbers, hanging tags for the welcome bags, thank you cards and placecards which she had each guests name written in calligraphy.

Save the Date, Represent Your State – Michigan

Jonathan and Denise live in D.C. but are coming back to Detroit to get married this fall. The wedding will be held at the beautiful and historic Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills. For the design, Denise, originally liked my India save the date, and wanted something similar for Michigan. They quoted a Bob Marley song as a nod to Jonathan’s Jamaican heritage. And because Michigan is such a fun shaped state, I couldn’t resist using, “Come celebrate in the land shaped like a hand.”

Lindsey’s Napa Valley Wedding Accessories

If you remember way back from last summer, I posted Lindsey’s Napa Valley Wedding invitations here. These are the coordinating accessories from her big event at the Beaulieu Garden.

We did custom die cut escort cards that were hung from the back of chivari chairs. My favorite, chalk board table numbers. Cute stir sticks that read, Adam and Linsey, ENJOY! and Life is a peach with you, a nod to the peach signature drink. They gave away olives as favors for their guests, so I made a custom sticker for that as well. We also created stickers for the welcomes boxes, along with an itinerary card, and lots of other signage for the event.
