I am loving Brooke’s invitation for lots of reasons! First of all, the wedding is taking place on private grounds, at the Beaulieu Garden in Napa Valley. It is a beautiful Italian style garden with vineyards and cypress trees. What I love about Brooke’s theme is that she didn’t go with the typical wine and grape themed look just because her wedding is in Napa.
She wanted a really soft, classic and romantic design with some unique twists that focused more on the garden side of things. What was even more fun is that she had a subtle, underlaying literature theme going on as well. We incorporated that into her timeline that you see below.
When I heard that literature was going to play a part in Brooke’s invitation concept, I was very excited. I am in LOVE with the Penguin Classics book covers. Such a beautiful use of color and design. I drew inspiration from these when designing her timeline. I do plenty of these every year, and time I wanted to do something a little different. I designed it to look like books lined up on a shelf with the title of the book actually being the event of the day.
We had everything letterpressed on soft, pillowy, ivory cotton stock with blush ink and had the corners rounded for added detail.
To complete the look she held everything in place with gray bakers twine and opted for garden themed vintage stamps, hand lettered calligraphy and envelope liners with an Art Nouveau style floral pattern.
